Use during pregnancy and lactation
How much is imodium
Do not take this drug during pregnancy. In this regard, pregnant women and women who are breastfeeding should be recommended to contact your doctor to obtain appropriate treatment.
Effects on ability to drive a car or use machines
You may experience increasing fatigue, dizziness or drowsiness syndrome of diarrhea during use loperamide hydrochloride. Therefore, we recommend caution taking this medication while driving a car or operating machinery.
Dosage and administration
How much is imodium
Imodium® not intended for the initial treatment of severe diarrhea, accompanied by a decrease in levels of fluid and electrolytes. Particularly in children preferably offset this loss through the appointment of replacement therapy parenterally or orally.
The capsules should be taken, drinking liquid.
Symptomatic treatment of acute in adults and children over 12 years
Initial dose - 2 capsules (4 mg), subsequently 1 capsule (2 mg) after each liquid stool next. The usual dose is 3-4 capsules (6.8 mg) per day. The maximum daily dose for acute diarrhea should not exceed 6 capsules (12 mg).
Symptomatic treatment of acute attacks of diarrhea caused by irritable bowel syndrome in adults 18 years after initial diagnosis doctor
The initial dose is two capsules (4 mg); further take 1 capsule (2 mg) after each liquid stool or case under previous advice of a doctor. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 6 capsules (12 mg).
In acute diarrhea within 48 hours if there is no clinical improvement, taking Imodiumu® should be discontinued.

In the treatment of elderly patients.
No dosage adjustment is needed for elderly patients.
Application for violations of renal function.
No dosage adjustment is necessary for patients with renal impairment.
Application for violations of liver function.
Although pharmacokinetic data on the effect of the drug in patients with hepatic impairment exist, such patients should prescribe Imodium® with caution due to the slowdown in their first-pass metabolism (see. Section "Peculiarities of Application").
